WHY do we really want it??
So if you just read the post WHY we never “MUST” do anything!
You also understand the way I look at the importance of communicating The why behind any action.
In order for solid changes, we need to talk to the heart and reason!
Not only in communication with others but perhaps even more so to ourselves.
The problem arises when we actually have no idea why we want whatever we want. Sadly, this is the case of… most people(!).
Especially in today’s society when we are being told from so many places; what to like * what a successful life is * how to look, dress, act * constant comparations to the “successful” * where to travel * shape your body like this but your mind like that * earn money, buy stuff * and so on…
Add to that a book/documentary/movie like The secrete (IMDB) where we are told that
Whatever we want, we can attract it, and we will get it!
First off:
The statement is true!
“To believe in what one wants is one of the most powerful tools we have been given as the human race.”
Animals don’t exactly go around wishing for different things out of the ordinary to happen to them.
Whatever we want, we can attract it
is true with some modification, the first one being – things don’t go looking for you to happen. Rather, once we know what we want we are open-minded and start looking for ways to achieve it.
Example 1:
You walk down the same road looking at the pavement, then one day you decide to look up only to see a “For sale” sign on what turns out to be the house of your dreams. The sign might have been there forever, but you deciding to look up does not mean that the sign came looking for you.
The huge problem behind this so-called power is that most people have no idea why they are wishing for certain things to happen to them.
Example 2:
Why would anyone possibly want 100 million euros???
Were we born with a wish to buy everything in a store?
You see, somewhere along the road we were told, in some way, that something like possessions makes us happy.
So before we start wishing for things, what we really should start doing is asking ourselves:
WHY do I really want it?!
Does it really resonate with My heart or is it just something I’ve been told, taught, instructed or manipulated into wanting??
If “Faith can move mountains“, perhaps we should ask ourselves – why do we even would want to move a f* mountain in the first place??
This is my side of the story, some of my thoughts about the big puzzle we call life.
What are yours?
