What is ‘Waiting’ to you?

– “I hate to wait!”
– “Why do I always have to wait for you!?”
– “How typical, I missed the bus so now I have to wait for the next one!”

To many – waiting equals sitting (or standing) around doing nothing but waiting for life to happen (or the bus to come). In a nutshell – to waste time.

I’ve started to notice that in our western society, waiting many times equals something negative. Like a halt in life towards where we prefer to be.

Me? I just love waiting around!
And no, I am not saying that just to separate myself from the herd.

Waiting to me equals:
‘I guess I am neither going somewhere or doing something else, so I might as well enjoy my peace of mind being right here, right now.
It could be by meditating; focusing on breathing and relaxing my muscles. Or it could be me stretching, doing some easy juggling, or reading a book. Something that I can do without taking too much space or be on my way somewhere, which I of course can’t since I am waiting around. 🙂

Enjoying life and living it to the fullest to me is not about constantly being on the search for kicks or bodily sensations but simply:

“To never see any aspect of life as a waste of time”

If I were to give my top philosophical life learnings, this would be one of them.

This is my side of the story, some of my thoughts about the big puzzle we call life.
What are yours?

Love / Pedro
