Tell me more about Verono!
Yes, how fun! Of course! It will be my pleasure!
(Ignore that the request came from myself…🤐)
Ask away!!
Why the name, Verono? Couldn’t you come up with anything catchier?
– I am fond of symbolism, it really gives that extra layer of meaning.
In the very first story about Verono and his friends, Verono is encountered with lies and has to face either to believe the lies or to trust/ask his friends about the truth.
His choice in other words can sort of being translated as To see or not to see and since the story originally was written in Spanish I loosely translated those words into Ver o No (see or not). Voilá – VERONO was born. I added the & Co to give it an international twist.

Press play and lean back! 🍿
What ages are Verono meant for?
– Fun thing, I had no idea at first!!
I just created a story without the intent of doing anything with it. Once I saw the potential I blindly thought it perhaps could be for children of 2-3 years old. That was until parents informed me that children in that age only just learn the concepts of colours and such.
So after doing my homework I was thinking my style of storytelling would be perfect for parents who want to read the story for their children of 5-7 years but I also got an unexpected respons from a girl of 9 years old and how she liked to read the story herself.
2021 I am doing a total revamp! My daughter Isabella was recently born in February and I started to play around with the idea of letting the story grow side by side along with her age.
(Truth told I also realized I had to get better at drawing, this buys me time 🤫)
So I scrapped the hard work I had put into the project and instead I am closing the circle by starting off doing simple colorful images with oneliners for children of 1-2 years.
-Life is simply at its best once we learn to let go of the idea of control and instead trust nature to guide us.
What are your inspirations?
– I just loooove Winnie the Pooh! The different characters, their personalities, and the way they live in different parts of a forest. I also adore how they together build the personality of the author’s (A. A. Milne) son (or so I’ve heard). This is how I have built my world, only my characters live inside an old volcano.
Old fashion storytelling also lies close to my heart. The way a grandmother or a grown-up reads a tale in front of an open fire and with only her voice makes the story and characters come to life in front of the gazing eyes of children.
I am old fashion romantic and a philosopher that wants to make a difference in this world. That is why I am fond of stories that have a moral and a sense of wanting to tell something more than the story itself.
Now what?
Follow my Words by and you will see 😉
But I’ll tell you this much: Stories for all ages, homepage, music, games, learning, cut and draw together, theatre, Pedrokkio and in time lots and lots more…
