What I have learned during 2022

Fear conquers all! Or at least the majority.

  • Fear of missing out (a.k.a FOMO)
Most people who took the vaccine (you all know which one I am referring to) did not take it to avoid getting sick. The majority took the vaccine so that they could still attend all the fun they had gotten used to being part of, the parties, the vacations, the concerts, etc.
  • Fear of standing out in the crowd
Another major reason for taking the vaccine was the fear of not doing what everyone else had done. The fear overtook the common sense of understanding that not even a percentage of any population in the world had gotten seriously ill. Instead, fear in terms of the government telling us we were bad citizens for not thinking of others overtook our lives. It divided us all. But it also united us all.
  • Fear of Not standing out in the crowd
To be common people is a horrible thought to many.
Looking at all the social media, people will go to lengths trying to stand out in the crowd.

Love conquers all (true?)

  • The love of my beautiful child
Isabella makes me a better person.
I am not afraid of dying, I have not been for many years. I know that whatever happens, happens for a reason far beyond my own horizon. It used to be I wanted to leave a legacy, this page being part of a huge circle I am creating. Now? Now, she is my legacy. I want to live long enough so that I can share all of my thoughts, learnings, and ideas with her. Not in order to form her into being me, but to give her a head start in life.
If or when you read this Isabellissima, whatever I do from now on, is for you! ❤️
  • The love that pollutes
In the same way that we do anything for love, love can also pollute our minds.
We might forget our own path in life in order to fill too big of a part of us with the attention of someone else. When we do not start with a love for ourselves, that is also the start of an endless strive to fill ourselves with the love and attention of others.
  • The love that cures
When fear is not our combining glue, when we open our eyes and see others for whom they are and not for what we want them to be or become, that is when love is at its greatest peak.
It takes nothing, not an action, not a touch – just pure acceptance!

This is my side of the story, some of my thoughts about the big puzzle we call life.
What are yours?

Love / Pedro
